Ugly Duckling

Mozilla recently announced that the Mac version of Firefox 3 will have Mac OS X specific user interface. While the new interface uses native Mac widgets, it nothing like a native Mac interface. The redesign currently being shown is effectively a "find and replace"
redesign where the old style Firefox interface elements have been replaced with the Mac OS X equivalent. This has the effect of making the user interface look very cluttered busy and ultimately un-Mac-like. Another notable error is that the make-over is still using the old brushed metal window chrome that has been dumped by Apple in the latest version of Mac OS X.
